Lagundo is the ideal starting point for exploring South Tyrol’s nature by bike. With the fresh scent in your nose and the gentle wind around your ears, you will feel like a new person here.
Explore the region around Merano on two wheels: here you will find a well-developed network of cycle paths with plenty of variety. Whether at a leisurely pace or in 7th gear, you decide: speed through an old Roman road on your racing bike, ride through Meran on your city bike or take your mountain bike to the nearest alpine pasture.
We strongly recommend a bike tour along the Via Claudia Augusta, dating back to Roman times, which starts from the Reschen Pass running through Lagundo to the south along the river Etsch/Adige. Stop by on your tour at lively villages, castles, chapels and ruins. There are sections that are suitable as a family cycle path but also slightly more demanding sections that can be classified as mountain bike routes.
Those who desire to get further can combine biking and travelling by train thanks to the Bikemobil Card. The bikemobilcard allows you to make full use of South Tyrol’s Integrated Public Transport network. In addition, on one day of your choice during the validity period of your bikemobilcard you may rent a bike in one of the railway stations’ bike rentals or in various further rental points dislocated throughout the territory and carrying the “Bici Alto Adige/Südtirol Rad” logo.
For your bike trip in Lagundo, we have listed some tours that you can enjoy starting directly from our Residence.
